Tergenang explores the struggles Nis faced with stagnation and the ways they look to overcome them. Through writing and symbolism, Nis looks into their experiences growing up around bodies of water, the relationships with their family, and the overwhelming stagnation they felt before leaving their hometown, Singapore.
